Did you know that Maya Angelou could never write f Did you know that Maya Angelou could never write from home? She always went away and booked herself a hotel or motel room.

I read that in one of my very favorite books that a friend gifted me over 11 years ago when I started to slowly pivot my business from offline to online. It’s called, “Daily Rituals. How Artists Work”, by @masoncurrey and it’s one I gifted to so many creative entrepreneur friends.

Every page of this beautiful little book is filled with short stories of his brilliant poets, composers, painters, choreographers, filmmakers and scientists. Heck yes! They are incredibly creative types to pursue hypothesis after hypothesis and exactly how I approach business to combine my left and right sides of my highly analytical yet super creative brain.

If you ever feel like you’re experiencing a creative funk, don’t fight it! LISTEN to it!

Your mind and soul are trying to tell you to shake things up! Literally move your body and embrace a change of pace, new surroundings which has an astounding affect on your creativity, try something new or revisit an old hobby that has been far too long since you did it.

Take your meetings outside, change up your daily routine, soak up the sun, break a sweat and INVITE creativity to freely FLOW to you!

💡What’s your favorite way to shake up your life and business? Let’s crowdsource and share some ideas!
We’ve been bamboozled into this archaic idea sho We’ve been bamboozled into this archaic idea shoved in our face that if you don’t specialize in only one thing for the rest of life, you’ll never reach massive success.

We need to unlearn this BS because it’s not true in this day and age filled with infinite possibilities that didn’t even exist not too long ago.

I just had the most refreshing conversation exactly about this with a phenomenal group of CREATIVE entrepreneurs who are wildly successful. I shared that my resumé/CV (not that I remember the last time I had to update it would like a collage made from four different people! But that’s how many amazing experiences and reinvention tours I’ve had... so far!

I’m the online space my “seemingly random” skills with 20+ years in film/TV/commercial production work doing makeup, wardrobe styling, set design, beauty lighting, visual branding, live television...

Negotiating gigs, day rates, contracts, consulting, travel, perks... plus all the mega huge personality peopling skills... I now use every bit of that!

Never stop being driven and led by your innate curiosity! Be a VORACIOUS student of life and learn a wide range of topics “only” for the purpose of personal expansion.

The ironic part is that in doing so not only do you enrich your life’s experiences, you discover so many hidden talents, passions and yes, even your NEXT purpose that drives you to live FULL OUT instead of the numbed out state too many float through day after day after monotonous day. NOT you!

✨Live boldly.
✨Learn voraciously.
✨Experience WILDLY!

So do you think your CV wildly “eclectic” as mine?? 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋🏾‍♀️🙃🙌🏼🎉
For all of my fellow (recovering) Type A’s... For all of my fellow (recovering) Type A’s...

✅ Heck yes to planning for your success. ✅ Identify your goals with specificity and clear targets.
✅ Structure your daily routine.
✅ Create boundaries around your non-negotiables...

But don’t forget to leave margin for MAGIC, have FUN and let go from time to time to go with the flowwwww just like Oprah said!🙌🏼🥰✨
No attempts, no rewards! Messy action is not only No attempts, no rewards!
Messy action is not only more relatable, it demonstrates what’s possible!

I don’t know about you but I find it far more INSPIRING and shows me what’s possible as well as fills me with an extra dose of hope when I see the come back after the fail or the UNDERDOG making it big!

Perfection... not so inspiring.

Showing up real and beautifully messy... I climb up to the rooftops to applaud that.

So show up. Really FULLY show up exactly as you are. You are already so very worthy as are your dreams.

Take that leap of faith on YOU & go make more “mistakes”. They are usually our best teachers and the fastest way to learn.
