Did you know that you might be sitting on a mountain of content gold right this second, especially if you’re already doing live video?
Yep, it’s true.
Live videos aren’t just meant to be shared once. You can take that one piece of content and repurpose it for so many things…
BUT one of the biggest mistakes that people make with live video is simply taking the content and repurposing it the way it is, especially on YouTube.
You guys know I’m your go-to expert when it comes to all things personal brand building strategy and live video BUT when it comes to YouTube and creating LONG TERM traffic, automation, and all things RECORDED videos, I personally reach out to my dear friends and mastermind members, Justin and Mike Brown the creators of Primal Video.
Justin and Mike Brown, the co-founders of Primal Video (aka The Brown Brothers) help entrepreneurs leverage the power of online video to build and scale their businesses.
Justin is a Netflix-featured producer and video marketing specialist with top-level credits on international film, documentary and extreme sports productions.
Mike is a self-confessed systems & process geek with 10+ years experience spanning strategy, mergers & acquisitions, operations and business development.
Together they teach their systems for creating quality videos, growing targeted audiences and monetizing influence to build automation-driven businesses and helping others to do the same.
The Brown Bros have a wildly popular Youtube Channel, Primal Video which currently has over 382,000 subscribers and growing!
During an incredible interview that you can watch HERE, I got to chat with Justin Brown all about:
- What YouTube expects with your videos
- How you can set yourself up for success as a business owner by creating your own plan and intention for what you use to create video on YouTube
- How to differentiate free content vs paid content on YouTube
- What types of industries/niches are recommended for YouTube
- Do you need different content for YouTube and your course or membership?
- And so.much.more!
One of the main things that Justin shared that I thought was important was how you’ve got to think about what the experience is for the viewers instead of trying to sell or “tease” content (which is a big NO-NO for YouTube.)
In short, it’s all about looking at the search engine capabilities of YouTube and getting specific with the content you’re creating so that you’re creating with intention instead of just throwing content out there and hoping it gets found.
Once I started using and applying what the Brown brothers teach, we started creating my live videos VERY differently knowing that I am going to repurpose them and we made it easier so that we had blocks of content within the live video that will make even more sense when we go to repurpose it.
One of the best things about YouTube is that the video sticks around so it can be found days, months, and even years later so one of the best places to start when creating content for YouTube is creating FAQ’s that way people can find you easily and you can send people who ask you questions to your videos.
Getting started TIP: Take 10-15 of the top questions you get asked the most and chop them into videos.
Then from there, you can find what your target audience is searching for and come up with additional content.
Too many people try and don’t see immediate results so they stop trying.
It’s really all about putting yourself out there (which a lot of you are already doing), being consistent, and not getting caught up and tripped up with what other people are doing. Give yourself 3-6 months of consistency to start seeing momentum and growth!
The strategy is all about trying, tweaking, and testing things out for yourself and Primal Video is a great place to start to come up with your own blueprint and make it work for your business.
