To get CLEAR on your personal brand messaging you must do this!

Okay, before we go any further, I have an important question for you…

Do you pronounce the word Niche: “Neesh” or “Nich?” 😜

I personally use them interchangeably but no matter which way you say it, I truly believe that in order to get clarity on your brand messaging and grow your business, figuring out your niche is the first step. 

And while that step comes first, it can actually be one of the biggest stumbling blocks for so many struggling entrepreneurs. 

If you don’t have the clarity on what your niche is you’ll most often find that you and your audience won’t be clear on what your brand is even known for, who you are trying to serve, and what you’re offering.

The two main areas of your niche are, aka “The What & The Who”:

  • What your expertise is in, what you are known for and what you’re offering. 
  • Who it is that you’re serving (Ideal Client Avatar or ICA), who you target/your ideal customer

Without figuring out your niche, it makes it much more difficult to plan social media content, create offers, courses, coaching, and memberships, etc.

Some of the main reasons why people DON’T niche down:

  • Fear
  • Don’t want to exclude people
  • Think they’ll reach fewer people
  • Don’t like the idea of being pigeonholed

I believe that you SHOULD niche down because it actually makes you more marketable and makes you the expert in your space and OMG, when you go from broad/generic to specific, the clearer you get and the bigger your business grows while also LOVING what you get to do more & more.

I also think that when you learn to niche down it actually gets you closer to the path to reaching the RIGHT people who you can serve and who you are actually supposed to serve.

On my own journey, I discovered that “the riches are in the niches,” which is a phrase I first heard by Pat Flynn and it really helped me to get over the fear of niching down in my business.

Because I did it scared and focused more on who I’ve wanted to serve, I’ve gotten over the fear of niching down and I’ve been able to build my business and reach more of the people I’ve wanted to reach (aka DREAM CLIENTS!)

I’m always looking at and tweaking my ICA in my business, especially before launches, because figuring out your ideal client is not something you do one time. Your niche is an evolution that changes as you gain more clarity in your business and as you work with more people.

And guess what?! The more I’ve niched down, the higher my revenue has grown!

I assure you that when you niche down and continuously narrow down your ICA, I assure you that your business will grow and thrive!

Create what you wish existed in the world… and s Create what you wish existed in the world… and start with you! 

You’re not lost, confused or stuck if you find yourself in mid-life questioning just about everything from your business, love relationships, the quality of friendships, health, spirituality… every important area of being a human! 

Evaluate all of it. Ask yourself what do you NO longer want or will tolerate? 

What are you craving more of? Pause to think deeply about that so that you don’t continue to repeat patterns and behaviors that no longer serve you. 

I’m at the beginning stages of my NEXT “reinvention tour”. It was the focus for the Baja Mexico retreat I just got back from. 

I’ve reinvented myself before, it’s probably not my last and that’s a GREAT thing!

While there’s a ton of uncertainty right now, what I DO know is that I have more than enough acquaintances and transactional relationships in my life and businesses. 

What I’m craving more of is a DEEPLY connected circle of trusted peers and friendships. 

The kind where there’s no competition, no ulterior motives, zero jealousy, just “I love you, I support you, you’re a big f*cking deal, and let’s do great things together while we are here on Earth” kinda energy.

When the doubt creeps back in, I remind myself that the unknown is the realm of infinite potential only made possible by change. 

So I’m leaning into this stage of mid-life not as a crisis but as a clear sign to trust my intuition and shake myself awake from floating through life. 

I want my life abundant with purpose, intention and connections. 

However you choose to reinvent yourself, whatever you come to realize, know this… 

✨May your current ceiling be your future floor✨
