I can’t believe it’s back!
I wasn’t planning on blogging about this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale #Nsale but when I got a chance to do an early preview there was only ONE item that jumped out at me that I knew I had to share with you… again!
Yes, I’ve shared this on my blog and across my social media platforms the last two years.
It was a part of the 2021 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale but it sold out within days. Then my team stumbled upon a few more February 2022 and it sold out in half a day after I shared it again! Wow!
That’s why I was so excited that this gorgeous trench is back again for this year’s anniversary event at an amazing steal of a deal: Sale Price $109.99,
For the first time ever, it’s also available in two new colors, Black and Red. My personal pick is still the camel-beige.
The details in the trench are the same with the buttery soft vegan leather which is also water resistant. The only change is in the lining which is now in a solid color vs my 2021 version.
The look, the style, the gorgeous is all the same and this is your chance to finally get one before it sells out again!
The Inspiration
This trench is one of my very FAV classic forever closet items that will never go out of style that I searched for so many years ever since I saw JLo wear a similar trench in the movie, “The Wedding Planner” many years ago.
The great news is that this version costs probably less than what the tax would be on JLo’s custom Tom Ford but it’s just as gorgeous, NO worries of astronomical dry cleaning costs either and care-free wearing without worrying about stains if it were the JLo version.
About the Fit and Sizing
Sizing from the website: XS=0-2, S=4-6, M=8-10, L=12-14, XL=16
This trench runs roomy side compared to other contemporary brands.
Even with my wide back and shoulders (I’m a human hanger!), the Medium fits comfy without any pulling like I often find with fitted blazers and jackets and I can layer it with fitted long sleeve tops.
My suggestion would be that if you’re between two sizes, go UP if you live in a colder climate and plan to wear this trench with chunkier sweaters and/or lots of layers.
If you’re in milder climates like me (I’m in So Cal) and you want a more body skimming streamlined fit the way I’m wearing mine, I’d got with the smaller of the two.
As far as the length goes, this is a classic trench which ideally should reach about mid-calf although you can have it shortened to right below OR above the knee depending entirely on your personal preference!
One of my private styling clients who is 5’2″ had it shortened right at Nordstrom using their alterations services since she is very petite. Since it’s not actual leather, the cost isn’t astronomical. If you have a Nordstrom card, make sure to utilize their annual alteration services that comes included depending on your card “level”.
The sleeves you can simply roll up and cuff easily if you have shorter arms like I do and jackets/blazers/coats are always long.
