As you might know, I’ve spent decades working both behind the scenes and more recently in the last six years, on the dang stage myself! Even I couldn’t have predicted any of this 10 years ago!
Oh boy, have I experienced both with my clients and with myself some major wardrobe malfunctions! With everything that I do, I want to help you reach your goals a whole lot faster and unscathed by sharing my experiences, both the wins and mistakes!
March was a whirlwind of exciting opportunities that actually involved finally getting out of my PJ’s and yoga pants and PUTTING ON REAL CLOTHES!
First up, I flew to Nashville for an amazing branding photoshoot project with Amy Porterfield. The photo above is a shot of Amy’s curated wardrobe I picked out specifically for her visually branding style.
This wasn’t my first time in Nashville. It was actually my fourth, always for business but I added in an extra day this time simply to explore this amazingly FUN city and I can’t wait to be back again! I highly recommend visiting!
The following week, I headed to the desert to eclectic Palm Springs to speak at my amazing friend from Australia, Tina Tower’s Mastermind Retreat which all but one of her member’s flew halfway around the world from “down under” for this magical event! And what a truly beautiful experience this was, even for me as a guest speaker to finally be in person with like-minded business owners sharing, connecting, learning and having so much fun!
If you follow my FB/IG Stories, I shared lots of behind the scenes looks at my process in how I prepare for my talks as well as how I style my outfit so that it’s aligned with the venue, the occasion, the weather, the audience and of course, is a reflection of my personal brand style!
The mastermind retreat was held in a gorgeous multi-million dollar home that reflected the high end Mid-Century style that is quintessential to the Palm Springs vibes. Here’s the two dress options that I brought with me that I had everyone vote on for the very sunny and HOT desert weather.
As you can see, the results were perfectly TIED for the very last minute Coral Amazon Midi Dress find (Prime delivery to the rescue) and the Boujee Blue Maxi from designer, Hemant and Nandit, that I’ve owned for four years now! This is one of my most favorite designers that creates the most luxe, dreamy and floaty dresses, and caftans that I’ve worn a lot both on my live videos as well as out in the real world. I’m always stalking websites like Revolve for great deals and sales on these closet staple investment pieces that I know will never go out of style.
I had to break the tie, so which one did I choose?
As you can see, I ultimately went with the four year old Boujee Blue because it also coordinated with the interior decor of the retreat home PERFECTLY!
But we need a moment for this awesome, ultra flattering, super affordable, just throw on and go, *Amazon Coral Midi Dress which I’ve already worn a few times for my latest live video and for the perfect spring date night dress!
I loved it so much I just got it in the Black and White version* too! At such an affordable price of under $36 and Free Prime Shipping, you can definitely get at least one from the many color and pattern options. Best of all, it comes in a wider range of sizes from Small to 2XL.
FYI, I found this dress to run slightly on the smaller side in the shoulders and bust area so if you’re between two sizes, choose the larger one. I have a wider back and shoulders (10+ years of competitive swimming will turn you into a human hanger). The empire waist style makes it a super comfy fit with no pinching or binding. This style could even work in the earlier months if you’re pregnant and/or after baby!
Since we’re talking fashion for a rare moment, I got flooded with so many DM’s about my “find of the decade“, the Camel Color Vegan Leather Trench that I’ve been searching for ever since I saw JLo in the custom Tom Ford Gucci version from The Wedding Planner many, many years ago!
The version I finally found is probably less than what the tax would be on that custom Tom Ford but it’s just as gorgeous, NO worries of astronomical dry cleaning costs either and care-free wearing without worrying about stains if it were the JLo version.
In the time I first shared this in my stories and creating this blog for you, the trench has sold out and come back into stock multiple times! As of this exact moment that I’m writing, it’s back in a few sizes AND on sale at Nordstrom. If it shows sold out again, BOOKMARK the page and/or this blog and check again!
I also found it available in both the camel color that I own and love as well as black, brand new HERE on Ebay! Don’t forget to check Ebay when you’re looking for sold out or hard to find products!
This trench runs one size BIG. Even with my wide back and shoulders, the Medium fits comfy without any pulling like I often find with fitted blazers and jackets and I can layer with fitted long sleeve tops.
I hope you enjoyed this rare fashion moment that I’ve shared with you! Let me know your thoughts if you enjoy this type of content and know that I’m always open to hearing what you love the most and want me to create more for you that is helpful to grow your Personal Brand Business!
With Grit & Grace, xo!
