“But my niche is too saturated! There’s already so many people who are far more qualified than me! I’m too young to start! I’m too old to start! I still need to lose 10 pounds to look okay on camera. I’m not ready yet!”
If you’ve ever found yourself saying any of the above thoughts to yourself, you’re not alone but you can’t choose to stay in those beliefs!
I’ve been there too and totally had COMPARISONITIS!
The thing is, your unique brilliance and point of view is NEEDED by the world NOW! But you can’t do your work if you choose to continue to hide. So, let’s get you out there because visibility equals opportunity! That why today we’re talking all about how to stand out from the crowd so that you can find your soulmate client.
Here’s a sneak peek of what we talked about:
- [6:38] The reason that a saturated market is actually not a bad thing.
- [11:56] Why competition is actually a great thing and a great sign.
- [19:56] Why you don’t have to reinvent the wheel.
- [21:55] The thing that you need to focus on to stand out from the crowd.
The Reason That a Saturated Market is Actually NOT a Bad Thing
While it might be true that in your particular niche there are other people who may have started earlier than you, that is actually not a bad thing. Having a saturated market doesn’t mean there isn’t room for you. Instead, it means that there is proof that the marketplace has demand for what you’re offering!
When I first started in the online space it wasn’t that saturated in my particular niche, but there were hundreds, if not thousands of people teaching live video. The thing is, just because someone is teaching the same thing or something similar, doesn’t make them your competition. They might actually be your best ally!
If you want to hear more about why your “competitors” might actually be your allies, skip ahead in the video to 6:38.
Why Competition Is Actually a Great Thing and a Great Sign
Prior to the pandemic, SoulCycle had a very different business model then Peloton. While both have a business where people ride on a bike that goes nowhere, the big differentiator back then was that SoulCycle was primarily a brick and mortar business. In comparison, Peloton was all about home fitness. So, though they’re technically in the same niche, their businesses were very complimentary.
Even though things have changed since March for both business, they aren’t each other’s competition. What Peloton, SoulCycle, and other companies have done is create more OPTIONS for the billions of people out there that want to use their products.
The key thing to remember is that Peloton and SoulCycle aren’t for everyone, and neither are you. Like them, you get to decide where you want to be, how you want to serve, and who you want to serve, because remember, there is no such thing as competition!
Why You Don’t Have To Reinvent the Wheel
For most of us, we’re not inventing something from scratch or trying to be the first time inventor of something. Whether you’re a service-based business, agency, or coach, what most of us are doing in the digital marketing space is building a better mousetrap. That’s why one of my favorite shows is Shark Tank, because many of the biggest revenue-generating products are sometimes the simplest things.
One of the best-selling Shark Tank products last year is something that has existed for hundreds of years and grows naturally in the sea. Yes, a sponge! The Scrub Daddy, a simple, low-ticket product, generated $209 million in sales last year. Why? Not because they invented something new and unique. Instead, they simply built a better mousetrap. So, if the thing holding you back is the idea that you need to reinvent the wheel, think again! You don’t need to reinvent the wheel. Just build a better mousetrap.

The Thing That You Need to Focus on to Stand Out From the Crowd
Differentiating yourself is essential in business and one of the best ways to stand out from the crowd is to focus on your inner superhero or superhero factor. That’s right, you are a superhero! Though you weren’t born being great at whatever it is that you do, there is greatness that lives within you that is just waiting to come out. That is what makes you different!
When you learn to embrace that, you’ll be able to take your focus and shift it to finding your soulmate client. That client that you not only GET to serve, but the one that you’d want 10 more, 100 more or even 1,000 more just like them! So, don’t be afraid to stand out from the crowd, because that’s exactly how your soulmate client is going to find you!
