My desert island, must-have skincare product for beautiful glowing skin, The Clarisonic!

                                                                                                                                                                                                           Following a skincare routine is a lot like working out and maintaining a healthy diet. The little things you do on a daily basis will make a big difference and have a postive cumulative effect.  By now i’m sure you’ve heard about and seen the Clarisonic skincare brush. It was on Oprah’s Favorite Things show a couple of years ago and consistently on the “best of” lists from various magazine beauty editors. Maybe you’re still skeptical and wondering what all the hoopla is over?  Well, add me as one more person who is absolutely a believer and drinking the Clarisonic Kool-Aid.

I’ve been using the Clarisonic for a little over six years now and it is by far the #1 product that has made the biggest difference in my skin’s texture, clarity and brightness. This is a product that you use 1-2 times a day to cleanse your skin and even take it in the shower with you!  The Clarisonic gently removes all traces of debris, dirt and makeup while offering gentle yet effective daily exfoliation. That’s really important because your skin can’t look it’s glowing best if you have ugly dead skin sitting on top.  On the flip side you don’t want to overexfoliate either which is easy to do with abrasive scrubs or wash cloths that can actually harm your skin and cause microscopic tears as well as broken capillaries. 

The Clarisonic was developed by the same engineers that came up with the Sonicare Toothbrush (another product I use and highly recommend!). Like the Sonicare, The Clarisonic uses gentle sonic vibrations of more than 300 movements per second.  You can use any cleanser with it as long as it doesn’t contain any gritty, scrubbing-type exfoliating ingredients.  I personally use and love, love, love Philosophy’s Purity Made Simple cleanser.  Within the first few days of usage you’ll notice that your skin feels much smoother, makeup will apply and look better and your skincare products will work more effectively. After the first few weeks you’ll notice your skin texture will greatly improve, have less breakouts and big decrease in congested/visible pores. I have almost glass-like glowing skin thanks to The Clarisonic and a baby’s booty has nothing on how it makes my skin feel!  I’ve also noticed a remarkable decrease in white and black heads which results in less breakouts and less noticeable pores.  Many people don’t notice how great The Clarisonic works for their skin until they stop using it for a few days like when they leave it behind on vacation. That’s when you realize the big difference it makes by using it for just a few minutes a day…kind of like when you cut back on lifting weights and your body slowly turns into marshmallow! Same thing!

I have the original Classic and love it but as soon as this one finally decides to die i’m getting the Pro because it’s a much better long term investment and like I mentioned my one and only Clarisonic has been going strong for over 5 years now!  My recommendation is to only get the Mia if you travel a lot as that is what it was intended for.  The Mia only has 1 speed and I believe a smaller motor so it may not last as long as the others. Also the warranty is only 1 yr long on it while the others are 2 yrs and Pro is 3yrs. If anything ever happens to your Clarisonic they 100% stand by their product and will take care of the repair or replacement for you. =)

It’s not cheap but it’s still less than the price of two spa facials and I find I don’t need to get facials nearly as often as I used to.  I think it’s an investment that is well worth your hard earned money!
