On most days i’m pretty casual a la Sporty Spice and I have to admit i’m in a hurry to get out the door so I can be wherever i’m supposed to be on time. That’s a big challenge for me! This was my look today which is pretty typical other than when i’m in my workout gear (regardless if i’m actually going to do a workout in them!). My casual everyday makeup routine is super simple and quick but I still look polished just in case I run into my next big client. Ya never know, right?
So here are my basics to get the heck out the door in a flash because ain’t nobody got half an hour to get fully dolled up! Starting from the top at 12 o’clock:
- The shiny silver pencil is Brow Power Waterproof Perfector by ItCosmetics to fill in my brows. It’s a waterproof gel pomade in pencil form and it defines my brows perfectly to fill in my very sparse hairs and lasts all day long with no worries about accidentally wiping one brow off so i’m left lopsided or coming out of a sweat drenched cycle class with no eyebrows at all. This is hot yoga proof brows! This takes me 1 minute to do my brows but it’s worth the minute because it truly defines and frames not just my eyes but lifts my whole face!
- At 2 o’clock is the Waterproof Gel Liner in pencil form also from ItCosmetics. The black color is the blackest black i’ve found and I only line my top lid with a slightly thicker line with a subtle wing at the end. This takes me another minute.
- Next is Curl Lashes & Mascara to define and lift the eyes. Never skip the mascara! Even if you only have 3 minutes to put your face on mascara should be the one and only step you spend on your eyes. I personally only use DiorShow Waterproof mascaras on myself and my clients. It’s the only one that I love and i’m practically married to them! If you have a couple extra minutes then add the liner and possibly this next step for a little splash of color on the lid.
- If I have an extra minute i’ll use my fave Mally Beauty Shadow Liner Stick which is a multi-tasking product that you can quickly swipe on over the lid leaving a gorgeous color. My fave is called Dusk which is the most beautiful neutral smoky taupey brown with a hint of gray purple in it. It’s hard to describe but it’s amazing and one that every one of my clients love and flatters any eye color! This is also my go to product to use as an eye shadow primer. It truly grabs any powder shadow to make it crease-proof, transfer-proof, smudge-proof. If this product doesn’t work for you, I honestly don’t know anything else that will! As Mally says, It’s Bulletproof!
- When I’m in a hurry I grab my full coverage pressed powder Celebration foundation from ItCosmetics (at 8 o’clock. Sorry I’m going out of order but I know you can keep up!). If i’m having a good skin day I just take a small concealer brush and touch up the areas that are red rather than apply it everywhere. This takes all of 30 seconds.
- For an all over glow in a hurry I use one product strategically all over my face. When I have more time I will contour, highlight and then add a blush but when I have only minutes to spare I use a bronzer that has a slight glow to it. This one is from ItCosmetics and it’s the Ombre Bronzer. You can see there are several shades to it so it’s not too muddy and not too shimmery either. We don’t want to look like a disco ball, right?! I sweep it lightly over my cheek bones, perimeter of my forehead, across my nose and jawline. Use sparingly! Less is more with this one! This also takes 30 seconds.
- For lips i’ll either go really bold with a bright hot pink lip like the one at 10 o’clock from Dior or i’ll just go with a moisturizing lip balm with a slight glossy sheen like the one at 11 o’clock from Sugar in the color Petal.
- If you’re in a crazy hurry, just throw on your brightest lipstick and biggest sunglasses and boom! You look chic!
So that’s it! Super easy peasy, fast & totally doable even for the most beginner level makeup user. Remember that perfecting your makeup is all about practice, practice, practice! The more you practice the more familiar you will become with your products as well as your face which will all result in faster application times.
