The ‘gram made me do it! I succumbed to all the pictures and especially the videos of people using a Jade Roller so my curiosity got the best of me and I purchased one back in mid June to test it out for myself. You know I have to put a new product through the wringer before I possibly share it with you if it makes it to my blog!
As I show you in the video above, it works even better if you immerse it in cold ice water! A super smart tip that many of my brilliant Instagram followers shared with me is to leave it in your frig so while you wait for your coffee to brew in the morning you can depuff your face!
Click Here for the exact Jade Roller I purchased on Amazon for $17.00! FYI, i’ve learned that most will squeak. Even the much higher priced ones from beauty supply stores.
My secret weapon #2 aka “The Magic Wand” that i’ve been raving about for at least 10 years is the Yves Saint Laurent (YSL for short), Touche Eclat. I’ve used this on every model, actor, speaker and of course, on myself whether it was for photos, videos, live videos, television or films!
Just like I said in the video above, the Touche Eclat is a hybrid product. It’s a lightweight concealer and highlighter in one. It works over makeup, under makeup or all alone. Plus it does NOT need to be set with any type of powder unlike 99% of the concealers out there. While it is not a heavy duty full coverage, opaque concealer, it also doesn’t get cakey under your eyes or emphasize fine lines & wrinkles. The tricky thing with concealer is that yes, you can easily disguise dark under eye shadows and even bruising but the downside is that it can age is easily by 10 years. The Touche Eclat is the happy medium!
As a reference, I’m using the Original shade #1 Luminous Radiance which may seem far too light for me and made for those who are very fair but remember this product is sheer. I use it to brighten up my eyes and before they recently came out with all the skin tone matching shades, there was only this one color! The #1 works for most who want a brightening effect from the lightest shade to those who are JLo-like medium tan. For those with deeper, richer skin tones I recommend going two shades lighter if you want to brighten around the eyes and/or highlight areas to make them look less recessed like crows feet and nasal labial folds, aka “marionette lines”.
For those that truly have dark under eye shadows (we all do but few really do!), go for the more peachy shades like #3 and #6 which act as a color corrector and helps neutralize the blue undertones whereas skin tone matching colors tend to create an unflattering grey/ashy look.
I know the Touche Eclat is pricey and trust me, i’ve searched high & low for years for a dupe that is less $$$ but they all fall short. This product not only lasts for a very long time, it truly works which for me, makes it more than worth it!
xoxo!
