I love falsies! How to apply false lashes. Perfect for beginners!

No, not that kind of falsies! I’m talkin false lashes!! If you weren’t blessed with full, lush, long and dark lashes (like me) or if you find that you’re losing your lashes as you get older (one of the many fun things to look forward to) you have to try false eye lashes.

There are many, many different types from full strips, clumps which have about 3 or 4 lashes in one little bundle, individuals which is just that, single eye lashes and my faves for beginners because they’re the easiest of all to apply, corner lashes!

Here are my favorite corner lashes. They are so easy to apply because you literally just plop them onto the outer corner of your eye. The #305’s are great for those that have naturally longer lashes and just want to thicken their lash line. The flare style gives you a majorly flirty and uplifted look to your eyes which is very youthful and helps to correct naturally downturned eyes. You get that winged out look without having to mess with eye liner or creating a cateye with shadows although of course you can do all of that combined to get a really sexy look!

The #301’s are great for those that naturally have shorter and more sparse lashes and/or for those that want a more natural look.

I also love MAC’s #20 corner lashes which are pricier but they are lighter and fringier.

So how do you apply these lashes? It’s super simple! Just apply your eye makeup like normal (shadow, eye liner) then curl and apply mascara to your natural lashes. Now you’re ready for the falsies. Gently remove the lashes from the container making sure not to pull too hard which can result in tweaking the shape. Then apply a very thin layer of DUO brand false lash glue. This part is super important! Wait about 30 seconds before applying the lash. They will adhere much easier and faster without slipping and sliding around your eye if the glue is tacky. Position the lash above your natural lashes as close to your lash line as you can get. Make sure you don’t apply the lashes past the outer corner of your eye because that will make your eyes look droopy and it’s all about lifting them up! If you don’t place the lashes down perfectly you have a little bit of “play” time to adjust them just right until the glue is completely dry and set. You can leave your lashes as is or apply another coat of mascara, very gently to weave the false lashes with your natural ones.

Don’t forget that you can re-use your lashes over and over again. Place them back into the container to hold the shape and remove excess glue by gently rolling them off. **Also if you can’t find the corner lashes you can always take a full strip and cut the outer 1/3 or 1/2.

The lashes in the picture above are some more of my faves. All the full strips have an invisible band which makes it look much more natural on the lash line versus those that have a dark, thick band. They are also light as air so you don’t feel them at all after you blink a couple of times and forget you even have them on. Those with more sensitive eyes will love these as they won’t fatigue your eyes the way that thicker, fuller, dark band lashes can.

Now go and practice!! It just takes a few tries to get it right but don’t wait right before a big important event to try it for the first time. Makeup is all about practice, practice, practice and you’ll get faster and better each time!
