Okay, assuming you’re using a really good quality waterproof mascara there’s an application technique that will make your lash line look darker, thicker and fuller, framing your eye as if you applied eye liner without really doing so. Start by tilting your head back until you can see the waterline on your upper lid. The waterline is where you would “tight line” your upper lash line. Tight lining is another technique where you apply eye liner to the underside of your upper lash line which gives you a very dark, sultry smokey eye look. You can tightline with your waterproof mascara by gently pressing your mascara brush at the very base of your lashes and waterline simultaneously. Tilting your head back helps to easily position your mascara brush without irritating your eyes or making them water. Then gently wiggle your mascara brush back and forth from lash base up to the tips. The zig zag and wiggling helps to wrap the mascara all the way around your lashes, bottom, sides and top. Repeat 2-3 times depending on the look you’re going for. The end result will be a perfectly framed eye, lashes that look way longer and thicker than they actually are and subtle lining of your upper lash line as well as the waterline without ever using eye liner!
Remember, don’t use low quality mascaras with this tight lining technique! You’ll just end up with mascara and harsh ingredients floating around in your eye. Use waterproof mascara for all day lasting power!
