How to Erase Self-Doubt and Believe In Yourself As an Entrepreneur

Share Button

Have you ever doubted yourself, questioned if what you’re creating with your business even matters?

Or, maybe you’re wondering if you’re truly making an impact?

I’ve struggled so much with all of the above too and so much more but everything changed when I discovered this one incredibly simple yet powerful tool that changed my life for the better!

This is the one thing that I’ve done for six years to help remind me of what I’m capable of, all of the things I’ve already overcome, and that I am a warrior!

Here’s a sneak peek of what we talked about:

  • [5:32] The power of an evidence file!
  • [17:50] How to teach your brain to seek out and celebrate every win!
  • [20:02] Why you are a warrior!

The Power of an Evidence File

The practice of creating an evidence file is something that I have done that I don’t see many people do in the online space.

An evidence file can be:

  • A physical journal, scrapbook, or album with photos that you’ve taken from your own phone. You can print them out easily and for little to no cost by using apps like FreePrints.
  • It can also be digital. Such as a file folder on your computer where you capture screenshots of all the positive comments you get from on social media, inside your program groups or during your launches.
  • It can also be a vision or a mission board that you create once a year or quarterly where you take all of the ideas from your brain on your big ideas, dreams and goals and translate it into something physical and tangible. You can then look back to see everything that you’ve accomplished, that YOU made come true, that YOU made it happen!

The reason why we do this is that the evidence files retrains your brain from its natural ability to focus on the negative (it even has a name, negativity bias), and instead look for the good! We often forget how many lives we’ve impacted which is why we have to train our brains to recognize the small wins.

Plus as the go-getter that you are, I bet you often speed through from accomplishing one goal to immediately go to the next without ever recognizing let alone celebrating that big win! This is how you pause to pat yourself on the back!

Skip ahead in the video to 5:32 to see examples of my evidence files.

How to Teach Your Brain to Seek Out and Celebrate Every Win

So many of us are go-getters, goal-crushers, and highly-driven, but what happens is that we often think that we have to do something really huge before we celebrate. We end up creating these made-up stories that are attached to these arbitrary numbers before we celebrate our wins. Celebrate every milestone now, because those are the ones that up to make the most overall impact!

This is what:

  • Gives you the momentum to move forward!
  • Reminds you of all the little baby steps that you are taking consistently every single day!
  • Helps you see the impact that you’re making that you’re not even recognizing!

When you teach your brain to focus on the positive, imagine what that does for your self-esteem?! You don’t have to wait until you get to those giant goals to celebrate. Celebrate the small wins now!

Why You Are A Warrior

I’m here to remind you of how powerful you are, how amazing you are, and how you’re able to overcome whatever life throws at you. Treat this like a baseball game and smack whatever comes at you and make it a home run!

Remember that you are a warrior:

  • All of the times that you thought you weren’t going to make it through, you’ve already proven yourself wrong!
  • Think of all the times in your life that you were knocked down, but you got up again!
  • You are more powerful than you think you are and more than you often give yourself credit for!

Whether you’re starting a brand new business or you’re just getting that momentum going, this is what builds you up! This is what strengthens you. You don’t have to just think your way to positivity, but really show up and collect your evidence as you build your business one small win at a time!

With Grit & Grace, xo!

This is my second time watching. Had to rewatch today because imposter syndrome is so high for me right now. I so appreciate you, Tiffanny!

I was so sad to hear of @larrykingnow passing. I w I was so sad to hear of @larrykingnow passing. I was very fortunate to work behind the scenes with him a few times both in his studio as well as in his private home where I mastered the ART of Lighting in his Trophy Room (Swipe left to see video of it) with all those reflective, mirrored surfaces! I always learned so much from how he interviews his guests to how he treats the crew.

Larry and his entire team were always the most gracious & kind to work with which isn’t always how things are BTS but he was a class act.

I will always remember how he said he never wanted to retire because he genuinely loved what he GOT to do and he was driven by CURIOSITY.

I’ll never forget that. Stay curious.

RIP Larry King🙏🏻

Are you drinking the #clubhouse Kool-Aid yet? Chee Are you drinking the #clubhouse Kool-Aid yet? Cheers, drink up 🥂my friend & keep your AirPods charged up like never before because I personally think this brand new audio-only social media app has massive opportunities and possibilities!

Yes, Clubhouse is still in the very early beta stage and not yet widely available but I’m doubling down on it now. Why? Soooo many reasons which I’ve personally experienced after diving in the past four weeks. I’m no expert and no one really is because it’s still too new but I am loving it for the:

✨Connections
✨Collaborations
✨Community

If I had a magic crystal ball🔮(bummer, mine’s in the shop), I’d predict that Clubhouse will only continue to grow as more users get access and help to co-create something that has never existed before unlike most of the other more recent social media platforms which has put a slight twist to “build a better mousetrap” on something that already existed,
i.e. Snapchat ➡️ IG Stories.
Vine ➡️ TikTok.

Clubhouse is totally different. It’s not only innovative but it’s simple, easy (no makeup & no pants required) and fills a huge gap that other platforms simply cannot do to create that much needed two-way conversation.

I’m not saying I’m abandoning my other social media content and audience growth strategies at all! Heck no especially when it comes to LIVE VIDEOS specifically on Facebook which is still my Number 1 & I’m TRIPLING DOWN on this year so I don’t find myself priced out of doing PAID ADS which I LOVE but I’m definitely continuing to test Clubhouse this year as a part of my overall social media strategy.

So what about you? Are you all in? What do you love/dislike about it? And I’ll see you in the next room that I’m hosting/co-moderating in!

@amyporterfield (Host of the Top Podcast, Online Marketing Made Easy & a dear friend + client), @sophiaamoruso (Founded @girlboss & Author), @tiyanarobinsonbeauty (Founder of Makeup Mogul) & me (Founder of Lights Camera Branding)!

This is the power & possibilities over on Clubhouse & I’m only 3 weeks in!

I’ve been sharing all my personal insights, experiences & exactly what I’m doing on my Weekly Facebook Live Show & Blog Show Notes!

I’ve been very intentional on who I’m following to curate Clubhouse to be like my personal “Ted Talks”, spend intentional time networking for those like me who are mega introverts (but smart enough to never use that as an excuse) & show up with MASSIVE VALUE to serve which creates more mind blowingly awesome connections!
Dear God, you have a very funny sense of humor. Wh Dear God, you have a very funny sense of humor. When I chose my word for 2021, EXPANSION, I should’ve been more specific to mean that did NOT include my waistline 😝 but it perfectly describes how I’ve been feeling heading into the new year.

✨EXPANSION beyond my comfort zone.
✨EXPANSION through my self-created limitations.
✨EXPANSION to INVITE new circles of friends, influence & create LOTS of seats at my table.
✨EXPANSION past playing small, EMBRACING change, the fears that accompany up-leveling & uncertainty.
✨EXPANSION of my FAITH!

I’ve always said, there’s nothing magical about January 1st. Every single day that we get the gift to wake up again, to live this life is a new chance, opportunity & clean slate to create whatever it is that you want & feel. It’s never too late to set those new goals right now. Even on a Friday.

So what about you? I’d love to hear what your word, theme or intentions are for 2021🥰
